Accessibility Statement

Amateur theatre is for everyone, and so is the software that supports it. We want any committee member — whatever their age, device or ability — to be able to write a marketing pack without a struggle.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our working standard. We are a small team building in the open, so we describe honestly what we have done rather than claiming full conformance.

• All interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
• Focus is clearly visible, using a gold focus ring on our navy and white palette.
• Dialogs and menus trap focus while open and return it when closed.
• Headings, landmarks and labels are used so screen readers can navigate structure.

• Body text is dark navy on white to keep contrast comfortable for long reading.
• Form text is high contrast, with clearly lighter placeholder text.
• Gold is used as an accent rather than for essential small text, so information is never conveyed by colour alone.
• Errors and required fields are described in text, not just colour.

Layouts are mobile-first and responsive, and reflow cleanly when you zoom to 200% or increase your browser's default text size. Content is readable in portrait on a phone without horizontal scrolling.

Theatrio is tested on recent versions of:

• Chrome and Edge (Windows, macOS, Android)
• Safari (macOS and iOS)
• Firefox

It works with the built-in screen readers and zoom tools in those platforms. Very old browsers may not display everything correctly.

Areas we are actively improving:

• Richer screen-reader announcements while AI content is being generated.
• Further contrast tuning on some secondary and muted text.
• More detailed labels on exported Word and PDF documents.

Accessibility is part of how we build, not a one-off task. We review new features for keyboard use, contrast and labelling before release, revisit this statement as the platform grows, and prioritise anything a real user tells us is getting in their way.
