Cookie Policy

What Theatrio stores in your browser, why we store it, how long it lasts and how to change your mind — in plain English.

Last updated: August 2026

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Theatrio also uses similar browser storage (local storage) to remember things like drafts and favourites.

This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy and explains exactly what we store and why.

2.Essential cookies

These are needed for Theatrio to work. They cannot be switched off, and no consent is required for them under UK law.

  • Security and anti-abuse protection
  • Load balancing and basic performance
  • Remembering your consent choices

3.Authentication cookies

These keep you signed in so you don't have to log in on every page. They store a secure session token issued when you sign in — never your password.

Signing out clears them. They also expire automatically, and are refreshed while you stay active.

4.Preference storage

We use browser storage to remember your in-progress production drafts, starred favourites and similar convenience settings. This stays on your own device and is not sent to us as a cookie.

5.Analytics cookies

Analytics helps us see which features volunteers actually use, so we spend our time on the right things. We look at aggregate patterns — page views, feature usage, errors — not individual behaviour.

Analytics cookies are non-essential. Where consent is legally required, we only set them after you agree, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

6.Stripe cookies

When you subscribe, Stripe sets its own cookies to process the payment securely and to detect fraud. These are essential to taking payment safely.

Stripe acts as an independent controller for fraud prevention. Their use of cookies is covered by Stripe's own privacy and cookie notices.

8.Managing cookies

You can control cookies in two ways:

  • In Theatrio — adjust your choices from the cookie banner or the cookie settings link when it appears.
  • In your browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you block or delete cookies for individual sites.

Blocking essential or authentication cookies will stop you being able to sign in and use Theatrio.
